Reality Distortion is a behavioral-science training game. You face eight named NPCs who resist your frame — a skeptical investor, a corporate gatekeeper, a burned founder, and others — and compose a six-fragment response that targets each NPC's weakness using six named persuasion techniques (Reframe, Scarcity, Binary, Inevitability, Logic, Synergy).
The scoring engine rewards stacking techniques against an NPC's documented weaknesses. The technique definitions cite source literature (Kahneman, Cialdini, Langer 1978) so the player can see, after each round, which mechanism their response actually deployed.
Reality Distortion is a single-developer project. The fastest channel is GitHub Issues:
Typical first-response window: 48 hours.
Are the scenarios real? The NPC archetypes (skeptical investor, expert critic, burned founder, etc.) are composites of recurring patterns in commercial and personal persuasion contexts. The dialogue lines are written; the technique-effectiveness rules are derived from published research.
Is there cloud sync? No. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any user data off-device. There is no account system. See the privacy policy.
Will more scenarios be added? The first release ships with eight NPCs. Subsequent releases will expand the roster and add new technique categories. Subscribe to the GitHub repo for release notes.
