Squatch · Last updated: 2026-08-15
Squatch keeps what you log on your phone. This page says exactly what the app stores, what it sends, and what it does not.
What the app stores on your device
- Food entries, weigh-ins, goals, fullness and mood entries, squat and training records, and your onboarding answers. These live in a local database on the device.
- If you have iCloud turned on, that database syncs through your own private iCloud account so your phone and your other devices agree. It sits in your Apple account, not on any server belonging to us, and we cannot read it.
- Settings and preferences, stored locally alongside it.
Apple Health
Squatch reads and writes Apple Health only after you grant permission, and only the categories you allow. It reads active energy burned, steps, body mass, sleep, blood glucose, and dietary energy. It writes the food you log back to Health as dietary energy and nutrition, so other apps you use can see it.
Health data moves between the app and Apple Health on the device. It is never sent anywhere else. You can revoke access at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Health.
What leaves your device
One thing does.
- Food searches. When you search for a food, the words you typed are
sent to Open Food Facts (
openfoodfacts.org), an open food database, which returns matching products. No account, no device identifier, and none of your logs, weights, or health data go with the request. Open Food Facts operates its own privacy policy for the traffic it receives.
That is the only network request the app makes.
Importing your history
If you import a CSV export from another tracker, the file is read on your device and the entries are written to your local database. The file is not transmitted anywhere.
What Squatch does not collect
- No usage analytics are transmitted. The app contains no analytics SDK.
- No crash reports are transmitted. The app contains no crash-reporting SDK.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data is sold or shared with data brokers.
- No account, no login, no email address, no name, no phone number, no contacts.
- No location.
- No camera and no photo library. The app does not ask for either.
- No third-party software development kits of any kind are bundled in the app.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see or store your payment details.
Deleting your data
Open Camp and tap Erase everything. That clears the local database and the app's stored settings on that device, and it cannot be undone. If iCloud sync is on, the deletion propagates to your other devices in the normal way.
Entries Squatch previously wrote to Apple Health belong to Apple Health and stay there. Delete them in the Health app, or revoke the app's write access in Settings, Privacy & Security, Health.
Children
Squatch is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and the app says so.
